Gina Collia-Suzuki A great big thank you...
Gina would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who dropped by at the ’ÄòUtamaro Revealed’Äô book signing on Saturday 25th October. She would also like to express her deepest gratitude to Sarah and Annie Bavin, of the Willow Tree in Weston-super-Mare, for making her feel so welcome. Gina was very pleased that the signing could take place at a venue where creativity is so actively encouraged and nurtured, and enjoyed taking part in such lively and varied discussion.

Illustrated talk at the Museum of East Asian Art, Bath:
Date: January 21, 2009 5:30-7:30PM
Location: Museum of East Asian Art, 12 Bennett Street, Bath, United Kingdom (tel: 01225 464640)
Gina Collia-Suzuki will be at the Museum of East Asian Art in Bath, from 5:30-7:30pm on January 21st 2009, to talk about Utamaro’Äôs depictions of real-life Japanese men and women, focusing particularly on his series of ill-fated lovers. These stories of love, revenge and murder became famous amongst the townspeople of Edo after being adapted for the popular stage, but they are not theatrical prints as such as, unlike other artists, Utamaro chose to depict the real-life individuals themselves rather than the actors who played them on stage. Tickets are priced at ¬£5, and you will need to book at least five days in advance. For more information please call the museum on 01225 464640, visit the Museum of East Asian Art web site, or email the museum at info@meaa.org.uk.
